My formal cooking and baking education began in 10th grade when I started attending culinary classes at the Upper Bucks Technical School. Although I began baking at an early age for recreation, it was here that my hobby flourished into the potential for a career. I regularly achieved perfect assessments of my creations and ended up graduating with distinguished honors from the baking program.
I furthered my knowledge and skill of the art of baking by enrolling in the baking and culinary program at BCCC. The courses I've taken there (including cake decorating, chocolate, and pastry) have all greatly contributed to the fine quality of work that I pride myself on. I have now graduated and will be serving an internship at a bakery in France in June 2013.
Throughout high school I have worked as in various restaurants part-time. After graduating from Pennridge I was hired by Sweet Lorraine's restaurant in Peddlers Village, where I was the only on site pastry chef. My responsibilities included making the everyday menu items but also developing the weekly specials that patrons of the restaurant came to love. After a year and change at Peddlers Village I was recruited by the owner of Alice Bakery and Confectionery to come and work with him as his apprentice. Since completion of my apprenticeship with Alice Bakery I have worked for another bakery and I now find myself working towards a management position at Panera Bread.
